Turn south (right) at Lockwood onto Interlake Road (signs to Lake San Antonio South Shore). xx miles from the Lockwood turn is Bryson-Hesperia Road. A right turn will take you to Copperhead Canyon (xx miles) and an old barn. Farther up Bryson-Hesperia Road (xx mi) you will come to a sign identifying Hesperia Hall to the right (about 200 yds.) which has been in continuous use since just after the Civil War. Hesperia School was just across the street on a flat area that is still visible.
Where the Bryson-Hesperia Road turns south,, a left turn (north) will take you down to Lake San Antonio on Pleito Road. The road ends at the Pleito Cemetary, which was moved from the original location of Pleito (the area Post Office) which is now at the bottom of the lake.
Continuing eastward on Interlake Road, a drive on Lynch Canyon Road (right turn xx miles from the Lockwood turn) may yield some interesting images.
You will continue east past the Bee Rock Store, up to high ground between the lakes with a good view of both, and to a dead end at a stop sign. A right turn will take you southward across the Naciemiento Dam and on into Paso Robles. A left turn will take you back northward to Jolon Road (which you left at Lockwood) near the Highway 101 onramp just north of Bradley. Then eastward to Highway 101 arriving near the Bradley off ramp.

Hesperia Hall has been an active gathering point for the area for over a century. The local school was across the road. |
Copperhead Canyon has a narrow road that is a nice short diversion with some interesting scenery. |
Lynch Canyon leads from Interlake Road to Oak shores on Lake Macimiento, through some very photogenic country, and the home of one of my favorite oaks. |
