The Central Coast Memorial Society is one of 16 such organizations in California and Hawaii which are affiliated as the Funeral Consumers Alliance of California and Hawaii. Similarly, it is one of about 125 such organizations in the U.S. that are joined in the national Funeral Consumers Alliance. These affiliations bring two important benefits to members, transfer privileges and "reciprocal services." Members who move to the area of another affiliated Society may transfer membership at little or no cost. Also, members who are temporarily in the area of such a Society, as when traveling or visiting away from their home area, can easily secure "reciprocal service." Should a member of this Society die
while in the area of another Society, care may be secured
through that Society as though membership were held there.
With instructions on file, a phone call to the home
contract-mortuary would bring not only help in finding an
appropriate mortuary in the area needed, but immediate
transfer of the information and instructions held by the
home mortuary. Charges by the mortuary providing the care
would be the same as set for Society members of their own
area. However, if you have selected cremation, and pay a
small additional fee ($50.00) for forwarding the cremated
remains, you will be protected by McDermott-Crockett's
FINIS Program. If pre-funded, this guarantees
that your services will be fully covered anywhere in the
United State (including Hawaii). |
