How does the Society
serve its members?
- By negotiating a low-cost
contract with a mortuary;
- By keeping on file Mortuary
Instructions for after-death care. The Instructions
(which may be changed at any time), greatly simplify
needed action when death occurs;
- By issuing a wallet card, once
Instructions are filed. This identifies the member in an
emergency and gives a toll-free phone number to call for
Mortuary Instructions;
- By keeping members informed via a
semi-annual newsletter;
- By providing Volunteer
Counselors throughout the
service area to assist with questions;
- By providing reciprocal services
with other Memorial Societies in the United States. (See
Nationwide
Service Network.)
How is the Society
governed?
Three members are elected to an eleven-member Board of
Directors at an annual meeting of members. The Board elects
its officers, who serve as officers of the Society and meet
throughout the year to direct Society business.
