Freedom of choice - with reasonable costs Until recently, most mortuaries regularly denied requests for simple death care, care that threatened mortuary profits. But public demand, with help from Memorial Societies, has now induced many mortuaries to offer simple care, but not generally at appropriately lower cost. Memorial Societies seek not only to secure and maintain easy access to simple care for those who wish it, but availability of such care at fair and reasonable cost. The Memorial Society is ready to help its members in difficult times. It not only does the shopping, but it negotiates a standing contract with at least one mortuary with a proven record of good service and fair pricing. Members may select preferred care from the contract mortuary, at terms and prices set in the Society's contract. Excluded are all costs for unneeded and undesired care. The resulting prices are lower than otherwise normally possible in the Central Coast area, and with the highest quality of service. |
