Family to Family Education Program The NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program is a 12 week course for families of individuals with severe brain disorders (mental illnesses). The course is taught by trained family members. All course materials are furnished at no cost. The curriculum focuses on schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic depression), clinical depression, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The course discusses the clinical treatment of these illnesses and teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively. This Course Offers: Information

Who is this course for? The course is specifically designed for family members and close friends of individuals with brain disorders (mental illnesses). the course is not appropriate for persons who are themselves suffering from any of these illnesses. However, consumers in recovery who also have an immediate family member with a serious brain disorder are encouraged to attend (and teach) the course. Who teaches this class? Classes are taught by NAMI family member volunteers who have completed a three day, 26 hour intensive training workshop. How much does it cost? The NAMI Family-to-Family Education Course is free.
