Anyone interested in gardening is welcome at our meetings.
You need not be a member to attend.
California Rare Fruit Growers is the largest amateur fruit-growing organization in the
world, with members in 48 states and U.S. territories, and in 30 countries. As one of the
17 chapters in California, the Central Coast Chapter meets in San Luis Obispo county
monthly, usually on the second Saturday. We enjoy touring local orchards, exchanging
knowledge and plants, learning about grafting and growing, and interacting with the
Agriculture Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Our latest project is to establish a demonstration rare
fruit orchard at Cal Poly using the profits from the state-wide California Rare Fruit
Growers convention we hosted in 1996.
